03 / MY APPROACH

A territory is understood
with those who live in it.

I'm a sociologist, dancer and choreographer. My work connects territory, community and regeneration: listening to the stories of a place, understanding its relationships and designing processes where people can have a real say.

I combine participatory tools with dance, movement and artistic creation. My choreographic training shapes how I design gatherings and how I work with the body, space and listening. These processes are built together with the communities, teams and institutions that take part in them.

Futures anticipation broadens that view: it lets us explore possible changes and guide the decisions we make today.

I'm currently studying for a Master's in Futures Anticipation and Innovation.

AN INVITATION TO LOOK

What is there,
but not visible at first glance.

Every territory holds relationships, memories, tensions and capacities that a first impression can miss. My work begins by recognizing them with those who live there, through listening, movement and collective creation.

This stereogram expresses part of my approach: changing how we look reveals another dimension. The ahuehuete and river hidden in the image invite us to pause and explore what we have yet to recognize. In territorial work, that understanding is built by many people and helps guide what we can do together.

Discover the ahuehuete and the river

Look as if you were seeing something behind the screen. Try to see three dots where there are two, then gently lower your gaze to the pattern. Take a break if it feels uncomfortable; you can also reveal the shape.

A PROCESS BUILT BY MANY PEOPLE

From an open-air dump
to a place for gathering.

This photograph captures a moment in a restoration process that brought together government agencies, organizations, community members, students and volunteers.

A shared transformation

The place where you now see a circle of people was once an open-air dump. Its restoration brought together the work and contributions of many stakeholders. My involvement is part of that shared story.

Recognizing everyone who made the process possible is part of how I understand work in the territory: every community, team and institution contributes knowledge, decisions and effort.

My contribution from art and sociology

In my practice I combine a social reading of the territory with tools from dance and choreography. I work with the body, space and collective creation to design ways of gathering and participating.

Artistic experience is part of how I accompany processes alongside other people and organizations, recognizing their knowledge and their capacity to make decisions.
